mmunal hatred or communal violence is a mindset among different communities to feel solidarity of their respective groups and it's obvious to choose victims on the basis of groups and communities . The most common reason of religious conflicts happen due to ideological clashes. The country has witnessed numerous incidents which are associated with ideological clashes , whether it is the well known Destruction of The Babri Masjid or be it the very frequently heard cases of mob lynching , however the events can be very well explained if cultural differences and history of the country can be taken into light. The cultural differences of both the religions of Hinduism & Islam have differing characters as well as lifestyles , creating a gap between two.
The situation of partition on secular grounds created a spark between two religions and therefore creating a situation where Muslims felt victimized and Hindus feared terrorism
Stating that the issue is not new , so from where the same originated? having a look at the events that took place before independence , Hindus have historically experienced persecution during the Islamic rule be it the Plundering of Somnath Temple by Mahmud of Ghazni or The Qutub Complex which was originally a site for 27 Hindu and Jain temples , the same continued for several years , till the death Aurangzeb in 1707 , then the Marathas rapidly conquered the state and often retaliated against Muslim population.
It is mostly said that the formation of communism in India laid by British for their selfish motive and policies of divide and rule. The British cannot be solely blamed for such a situation , as the top most leaders of congress and Muslim league had a part to play , when it comes to strengthening communism. On the other hand the partition shocked the innocent and made the communism more strong with passing time. The event of partition became very tragic and leading to more than a million deaths form both the communities.
Moreover, not only the partition , the Hindu-Muslim unity became eyesore to the British , thus they sensed danger and leading to the policy of divide and rule. The main objective for the same was to stop the awakening.
The political power was slowly passed from the British to Indian hands , putting an immense burden on the Hindu-Muslim relations, however leading to conflicts and riots.
Hindu-Muslim controversy over the question of language was the major conflict.
There were many policies - like the introduction of separate Hindu-Muslim electorates that undoubtedly promoted Hindu-Muslim violence.
Since independence there have been many religious riots and thousands have been killed in the same. Be it the incident of Demolition of The Babri Masjid or Palgarh mob lynching , these riots and conflicts eventually gives rise to hatred and hate speech , apparently leading to spread the fire of Communism , an accurate example of the same was the CAA protest ,The amendment has been widely criticized as discriminating on the basis of religion, particularity for excluding Muslims. Protesters against the amendment demand that it be scrapped and that the nationwide NRC not be implemented. It amends the Citizenship Act 1955 to grant a swifter path to Indian citizenship under the assumption of religious persecution to any individual belonging to the specific minorities of Hindus,Sikhs,Buddhists,Jains ,Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan,Bangladesh and Pakistan, who entered India on or before 31 December 2014. Now the only thing to be understood in this scenario is the countries mentioned in the same are Muslim dominant countries and the majority stands being Muslim , it provides the minorities that are assumed to be victimized through religious persecution a path towards the Indian Citizenship. The major reason that created a belief among Indian Muslims was mostly hate speech and forwarding of provocative information.
The modern and secular country of India needs to be more aware , educated and sensible towards matters of religion, especially when it comes to supporting the nation's integrity.
